I shall start with tonight's song: Make the Girl Dance, Baby Baby Baby. This is not the style of music that I usually like but this one is stuck in my head.
I made raw vegan apple pie
Baby Baby Baby
It was so delicious I could die
Baby Baby Baby
I will post awesome pics soon
Baby Baby Baby
Probably at the start of June
Alrighty, enough of that. I am not a poet. You can find the music video for that song on youtube. Most men will appreciate it. Some ladies too.
I finally went to see the Imagine exhibition at the Musee des Beaux Arts here in Montreal. For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, it is an exhibition about John Lennon and Yoko Ono. I think it is intended to commemorate the honeymoon Bed-in for peace that they did at the Queen E. I love that it is free and people are encouraged to touch things, leave notes on tags hanging from trees, take pictures and upload them to a Web site, etc. I didn't like that even though I went on a Thursday afternoon, there were so many people that it was hard to really look at anything.
Now, as a poor artiste allow me to bitch a tad about art in general...a few of the pieces were testimonials to the fact that fame changes artistic standards. What I mean to say is that if an artist who wasn't famous had done the same drawings then they would probably just be dismissed. The fact that John Lennon made those sketches makes them interesting and historically significant. This is a half-hearted bitch because I am in awe of the longevity of both John Lennon and Yoko Ono's mystique. Modern day celebs try to move from music to art, acting, fashion lines etc. and though they might make a go of it, they probably will never reach the icon status or be remembered in 30 years. All the same, it would seem the key to life is fame. It can also be the key to destruction.
If you want details on the exhibition go to: Musee des Beaux Arts, Montreal.
Baby.
Good-night!
P.S. Omigod! I was watching Donnie Darko last night and even though I've seen it before, this time I realized that Seth Rogen was in it. He plays a bully. He's one of my favourite actors.

Flat
Last Sunday I went to the Expozine in the Plateau. I wanted to enjoy myself but it was in a church basement and very crowded. It was hard to get in close to look at the different works or talk to the artists. Maybe I will try again next year.
Yesterday I rented 99 Francs as part of my attempts to improve my French. I had never heard of the film but was pleasantly surprised. It is certainly not family-friendly but that is maybe what I liked about it. It basically is a critique of our consumerist society and the role that advertising and marketing play from the perspective of a coked-up French ad exec named Octave. Most of the film had the pace of an advertisement as well. I definitely recommend renting it if you like dark humour and don't mind gratuitous drug use and sex.
I am still working on my painting of the buildings. I was quite pleased with its progress initially but now I feel that I have muddled the colours and need to get back to a more restrictive colour palette to make it work. I am too much of a perfectionist sometimes. The hours that I have dedicated to that piece would probably add up to almost a week.
Tonight's song is 'Last Goodbye' by Jeff Buckley. I really like that song...

End of Week? End of Weekend? Indeed.
Greetings all two of my faithful readers! I have been keeping busy as usual. I still haven't finished the buildings painting.(I love the word bildungsroman. hehe. Yes, that is random.) I have modified some of the colours and added new elements-four to be exact. The work progresses.
On Friday I hung out with Ange. We went for $5 Veggie Chili and shared a pitcher of Sangria. Outings can be cheap if you know how to prioritize! Nicely buzzed we went to the Old Forum to watch Rachel Getting Married. It was an interesting movie but I don't think I would watch it again. I liked the music and it had a very eclectic wedding in it. (I hate weddings though.) In some ways the movie just seemed pretentious, from the over-the-top wedding to the handheld camera work throughout... As well, the movie was full of all these characters who are supposed to be worldly open-minded creative types. It helps that they all seem to be independently wealthy as well. (It is much easier to fully indulge creativity when money is not an object.) Anyway, as you may have heard, Anne Hathaway plays Rachel's sister who leaves rehab to attend Rachel's wedding. The same open-minded, worldly people mentioned before have trouble accepting Rachel and her relapses, drama etc. I guess maybe that is the point. I just felt that the movie wanted so badly to be good, deep, meaningful and give a message that this self-consciousness leaked through and ruined it for me.
Yesterday Miss and Mr. Dish came over for stew, Caribbean Sunsets and hockey. I don't particularly like the hockey but had a delightful evening nonetheless. Today I must tackle the post-fest mess. Yippee.
